Frequently Asked Questions

-     Who all can participate?     -

As the presentations from the experts along with mentoring sessions and final team presentations are to be delivered online, any  student enrolled in an Australian University can register their interest in a team or individually.

-     What if I can’t attend the presentations live?     -

Presentations will be recorded and shared with registered participants after the live session. So if you are unavailable at the given time slots, you can watch the recorded session later at your convenience. However live sessions will give a chance for you to participate in Q&A.

-     What to do if I am in a team of one?     -

Participants are expected to be in teams of 3 (min) -5 (max).But if you are an individual who wishes to participate ,we will assist in assembling teams. Working in teams and Role playing is an important part of this competition and in solving any real life problem comprehensively. This should be taken as an opportunity to learn the skill of collaboration with different disciplines in a virtual environment.

-     How many hours do I have to invest?     -

It depends on individual teams and their on previous knowledge, skills ,ability to use research tools,implement  discovery and effectively present ideas. 

-     Do I have to design the whole site?     -

You are expected to locate different uses on the site as deemed essential to your concept of future city. But most of the site is already designed. It is mostly about "filling the blanks"  and providing  innovative ideas for a working city in our future. As North Arm Cove is just a case example, you might also consider scaling your concept at different levels to ensure its feasibility on varied locations.

-     What is the cash prize?     -

-     Can I still register if I have missed to attend the presentations?   -

You can register till mid Jan and watch the presentations  recorded. However earlier the better as we will keep sharing information and resources which might help you shape your  proposition for future cities.  

-     Where can I find the recorded presentations?  -

All recorded presentations are shared by registered participants on an everyday basis. For those who haven't registered yet or just want to watch the presentations, we will be updating the link on the schedule page soon.
